Temescal and Rockridge
Telegraph near 51st behaves like a second downtown. College Avenue behaves like a village. Different words, one mile apart.
Oakland SEO is won at neighborhood level. Temescal is not Fruitvale, Rockridge is not Jack London Square, and a footer that only says Bay Area throws the query away.

THE FREE CHECKER, NOT A CONTACT FORM
It reads your live pages and gives you the list in about a minute. No signup, no card, no call. Plenty of Oakland owners fix it themselves from here and never contact me, which is a fine outcome.
READ THIS ONE AT A TIME
Neighborhood level search, and Spanish language listings. Scroll and each corridor comes up on its own.
Telegraph near 51st behaves like a second downtown. College Avenue behaves like a village. Different words, one mile apart.
A large share of this search happens in Spanish. If your walk-ins speak Spanish and your listing does not, you already lost part of the pack.
The lake loop is a weekend rhythm. Clinics on Grand and shops on Lakeshore share a street and almost no customer.
Warehouse vendors search like businesses, not consumers. That belongs on its own page, never in the same paragraph as Chinatown lunch.
WHAT I CHECK FIRST
Every Oakland audit starts here, and the order matters. Fixing the third before the first is how money gets wasted.
The primary category, your real hours, the service area, and photographs that look like International Blvd rather than a warehouse in Tracy. This is the cheapest thing on the page to fix and the one that moves the map pack.
Every duplicate that still carries an old phone number or a Emeryville address. Correcting the Google listing does not correct the copies, and the copies are what keep contradicting you.
The page title has to name the trade and the city. If the browser tab still says Home, you are not competing for "taqueria Fruitvale" no matter what the rest of the site does.
THE NEXT STEP IS FREE
The scanner runs those same checks against your live pages and gives you the list in about a minute. No signup, no card, and plenty of Oakland owners fix it themselves from there and never contact me. That is a fine outcome.
Oakland is not one search market and treating it as one is the most expensive mistake here. Telegraph near 51st behaves like a second downtown. College Avenue behaves like a village. Grand and Lakeshore are a weekend rhythm. Those are different customers typing different words a mile apart.
A large share of search in Fruitvale and along International happens in Spanish. If your walk-ins speak Spanish and your listing is English only, you are not competing for part of your own street. That is the single biggest unclaimed advantage I find in this city.
So Oakland local SEO starts by choosing a corridor you can actually serve tonight, and building for the words used there, rather than ranking twelfth for the whole city.
Profile work first, because a complete card beats a better business with an empty one. Then citations, then page titles that name the neighborhood, then content aimed at the corridor.
I will not promise the three-pack on Piedmont Avenue in thirty days. That corridor is loud and the honest short path there is usually paid, which is a different conversation and a different invoice.
Profile fixes can show in two weeks. Rankings take three months.
There is no version of this where Oakland rankings move in a fortnight. What moves quickly is the listing, and that is where I start for exactly that reason.THE ONE CLIENT I CAN SHOW
A Bay Area transport company, five months of work, then a deliberate stop to see whether it held. It did, and it is still not page one. Both halves are on the page.

MORE THAN SEARCH
Oakland is the one city where the marketing has to change by district. What works in Rockridge is wasted on International Boulevard. These are the three pieces that run alongside the search work.
An Oakland marketing agency that treats the city as one market throws away most of the budget. The plan should name districts, and for a lot of businesses here it should name two languages.
Paid is how you cover districts you do not rank in yet, and Oakland has more of those than anywhere else on this list. It buys time while the neighborhood pages earn their positions.
A lot of Oakland search happens on a phone, on the street, on a patchy connection. A site that takes six seconds has lost the customer before your ranking mattered.
Ecommerce and social run inside the same plan rather than as separate retainers. If you only need one of these, say so and we scope just that one. If you are not sure which, run the free checker and the result usually makes it obvious.
OAKLAND QUESTIONS
If your walk-ins speak Spanish, yes, and it is the single biggest gap I find in Fruitvale and East Oakland. A full bilingual website is a separate web job, but the listing itself is quick. ask me about bilingual listings ↗
The one you can actually serve tonight. Ranking across the whole city is a much longer and more expensive fight than owning one corridor properly. see all service areas ↗
Not in thirty days. That corridor is loud. I will tell you honestly if paid ads are the only short path there. see the ads page ↗
A lot. Somebody stuck on 880 looking for a dentist opens Maps, not Instagram. If your hours are wrong they bounce to the next pin. check your own listing ↗
Three hundred dollars a month, cancel whenever you want. That covers the audit, the fix list and the work itself. Web design, Google Ads and photography are quoted separately on their own pages and never bundled in quietly. see the ads page ↗
Then I tell you, and we stop. I report from your own Search Console so you are reading the same numbers I am, and if I do not think I can move your rankings I will say so before you pay rather than after twelve months. check your own listing ↗
